Haptena Therapeutics, founded in 2025 by Professors Chiara Ambrogio and Roberto Chiarle, is developing next-generation immunotherapies for oncogene-driven cancers by integrating precision oncology with immune engineering.

Many cancers driven by oncogenes remain inadequately treated by existing therapies: targeted therapies offer precision but their duration of response needs improvement, while immunotherapies have shown profound efficacy but struggle to be applied to genetically complex cancers. Haptena’s programmes aim to bridge these two approaches, combining the precision of targeted therapy with the power of immune-based treatment.

The company’s initial research focus is on KRAS-mutant tumours, starting with its lead KRAS G12C programme, targeting resistance mechanisms and tumour adaptation to deliver more effective and durable treatment options for patients with some of the most challenging cancers.
